Lapland
Spectacular Daybreak -Visit Northern Lapland,
meet Santa and see a Snow Castle.
This is your opportunity to enjoy a day of pure magic, which will long remain vivid in your memory, as you join our special one-day tour to Lapland to meet Santa Claus.
From the very moment of your arrival at check-in until your arrival back in the United Kingdom, all emphasis is placed upon making your day tour as enjoyable as possible. Breakfast is served during the outward flight and, where possible, aircraft with on-board video entertainment facilities will be used. Also, where airlines and crew co-operate, there will be a traditional Christmas sing-a-long.
You will land at Enontekio Airport in Lapland where it is highly likely that our flights will be the only service of the day. The airport terminal, only the size of a detached house, is to small to handle our party, and allocation of warm over clothing and boots is arranged on the airport grounds before proceeding directly by skidoo and sleigh to meet Santa Claus.
Soon you reach the totally uncommercialised village of Hetta, about the size of a British high street, where it is known that Santa has one of his many homes in the region, and it is here that you can relax and enjoy the planned activities for the day. In this beautiful setting, with its nearby Snow Castle, Donner and Blitzen have informed us where you may find Father Christmas.
Whilst waiting for the opportunity to meet the man himself, a whole host of opportunities are open to you. Sample a ride with Santa's very own reindeer to enjoy another form of Arctic transportation, or the husky team and even an Arctic Horse and sleigh ride. Why not take the opportunity to enjoy the unique thrill of driving a snowmobile. A visit to the Snow Castle is an absolute must. Here in an anti-chamber, hot drinks are served from a table constructed from ice, and you can see various ice structures and view a selection of Arctic artifacts.
The simple pleasures of tobogganing enhance your activity programme and, naturally, there is a meal provided which, although simple in nature, will nevertheless be tasty indeed. Items such as soups, baked potatoes or pasta, and pancakes and jam will be served in the warmth of Hotel Hetta. Meeting Santa, of course, will always remain a highlight of your family visit, and your children will have the opportunity to discuss the contents of their letters with him. Naturally, there will be a present for each child.
Soon it will be time to bid a fond farewell to Santa, who must continue making preparations for his worldwide tour. As a lasting souvenir of your visit you will be provided with husky, reindeer and skidoo licenses and a certificate stating that you have crossed the Arctic Circle. Shopping for souvenirs will be possible prior to departure. During the inbound flight, dinner will be served.
